I will probably *lose at the end of the month and I need to *hoose an attorney. I have already been referred to Larry Kristoff and Kristen Zillio*x. Both are in *layton, b*t I wo*ld like other opinions. Thanks in advan*e!
I had nothing but problems with Kirstoff so I would not personally suggest him. I would suggest Sandy Caulter on Hwy 70 in Garner. He definitely has his act together.
I've used Kristoff three times personally with no issues and for several clients with no issues. Sandy Caulder is fine if you don't mind talking to a different paralegal every time you call. Don't get me wrong, have done plenty of closings with him, but he does lack the personal touch you get with Kristoff. Oh, Emory Ashley in Smithfield did all the ones for the builder I worked for, if he's still around.
Perhaps Kristoff has changed since they screwed up everything for me. As for Caulter, who gives a crap about the paralegal, he get's it done and there are no problems.
Sandy Caulder is a good attorney - but if you check, you will probably find that a "paralegal" is the one who prepared all the closing documents for the client and his signatures. All he's got to do is walk into the conference room, explain what you are signing and that's it. The paralegal is the one who has dealt with the realtor, the loan company, and everyone else involved.
Actually, it's Calder... Hubby's been using him for almost 10 years now, have never had a problem. And I think he usually has the same girl working on his stuff too (can't remember her name though)
We used Calder & McWilliam on 70 in Garner for our closing, and I do NOT recommend them. They really were horrible. They failed to order our survey, and then tried to lie about it. When I attempted to delay the closing until after the survey, they were really mean about it and pretty much said that I had no choice but to close. And of course we got royally screwed when the survey came back and the lot the was smaller than had been represented (verbally) by the builder. Oh, and it took them a MONTH of my calling every other day to get us a copy of the survey. Completely incompetent.
Every attorney has their paralegal do their work for them and they only sit in on the closing. Very few attorneys will go do the title research. None of them talk to the banks and the loan closing documents. Ive worked with everyone that has been mentioned. Go see Don Wells. His paralegal will do you up right. Just ask MamaApe
We've bought three homes and it was never the responsibility to order the survey. We took care scheduling those. Are closing attorney's now handling that, too?
I met one of them real estate lawyers last year and her name was Anita Getter. She works in Raleigh off Mourning Dove Road. I don't know how good a job she does but I do know that she's real easy on the eyes... if that helps you narrow it down any.
I've used Sandy twice and he is a good guy......but you think thin skinned women types might find him a little abrasive. He once made a selling agent cry when I was there. By the way, the paralegal we saw was HAWT.
