Are they any good? I need a new bank seeing as my current one really ticked me off today and i just finally had enough of them and took my money out. So before I go and put all my money in a new place, I wanted to get some opinions of this bank. Thanks!
I won't bank at Walmart - period. Not getting my hair cut or going to the eye dr either. I know they are only renting space, but it's too close for comfort.
Only thing that I know about them is I have seen several signs at different places saying "we do not accept checks on Woodforest Bank"(hummmm)
I actually went to Dr. E (the eye Dr.) before he went to Walmart, so that's why I go to him now in Walmart. but yeah, I know what you mean lol
Really? I haven't seen that before. hmmm.. only 2 responses I think I need to look for another option. lol
Woodforest = no good. There are many places that won't take checks from woodforest, basically because all you need to get any account from woodforest is a heartbeat and alot scam checks have come from people that use it. I can't ever imagine why such a fine establishment, even one that is allowed to operate in walmart (you know it can be trusted there, RIGHT!?), would have that problem As for the OP asking about using woodforest, I wouldn't just because of the check discrimination. Other reasons exist, but that's the main one that I can address with first hand knowledge.
Thanks for the inputs. So what other banks are in the 4042 area besides wachovia and 1st citizens that anyone recommends?
I don't think there is one up at 40/42, but I love BBandT and also Four Oaks. Nothing but good experiences with both.
I haven't had any problem with Coastal Federal Credit Union, at least so far. They've got a branch at 40/42. The only thing I don't like is that they don't have real teller windows, even inside.
Crescent State Bank :hurray: We use Crescent State Bank in Clayton - love them. They are a small, community bank yet they offer ALL of the services of the larger banks. You walk in and the tellers actually know your name. In the past 2 years we have had several CD's mature; my hubby negotiated with Crescent to get us a great interest rate if we renew with them - they agreed - very personable service!!!!!
actually, I think its Coastal Federal Credit Union, that there are no 'eligibility requirements' my bad.
