absolutely not. I see one. always have, always will. I know he works on M, W, Fri....so I make my appts. for those days.
haven't been but after about 35 years of going to the same dentist, he retired a couple of months ago. I'm due for my 6 month check up in November. I fear that I'm going to have a tough time finding a dentist that will live up to the standards I'm used to. Are you, by chance, talking about Dr. Wright in Smithfield?
Speaking of the devil.... I JUST BROKE A TOOTH!!!!!! I have an appointment with Dr. McNealy on Monday at noon... I am so scared right now it is not even funny... I have to get my husband to take the time off and go with me, cause otherwise I will never get through the door!:banghead: I hate being so scared of the dentist....they love to poke with those little metal sticks right where it hurts!!!!!!!
Dr. Wright was the BEST and you are correct - it will be hard ~ if not impossible~ to find anyone like him. We saw him the week before he retired after my son traumatically knocked out a baby tooth. We called the office as soon as it happened, he told us to come right in. He saw us immediately, evaluated my son to make sure his tooth didn't break leaving the root of the tooth behind, examined and advised us about his injured gum and then didn't charge us a dime. He hugged us all as we left and thanked us for our business over the years. That on top of having a waiting room full of people as everyone seemed to be trying to get in one last visit before he closed up shop. We did asked if he could recommend anyone. He didn't say anything negative about Dr. R but he not list him in the dentists he was recommending. When I mentioned that practice, he made a comment about how some dentists seem to just be it it for the profit. I took his subtle comment to heart. He did mention Dr Lee in Clayton. I haven't made an appointment yet but think I'll check there. A dentist has actually taken over Dr. W's practice but I don't know who it is or anything about them.
Don't make me cry...enough tears with Guiding Light ending today. Dr Wright has been like a member of the family. I've been going to him since I was about 6 yrs old....when I had my first cavity. I didn't have another one until about 3 years ago. I almost cried them and he gave me the speech about getting older and hormones changing. My parents were some of his first patients. In my opinion he has always gone above and beyond. He worked with both my girls with their Senior projects. And he has really worked with my youngest while she's been in dental school. Any questions she' had, he was more than happy to answer. When my sisters son was born he promised when he was old enough he would see him. He did during his last month of working. And when my daddy was going through chemo and radiation, Dr Wright was there on the phone at night helping out in any way. The drs sent him to the dentist to have all his teeth pulled before beginning treatments, but Dr Wright saved them all and his teeth are fine today. He is such an outstanding man and I really dread finding another dentist.
Same here, have been there a number of times and within the last week. I have never had to wait at the 4042 location.
I second Dr. Mullen. Great dentist, very patient (first crown!), explains what he's doing, concerned about your time, understands finances/insurance and helps explain what can wait and what is more pressing, etc. I really can't say enough about him - just a genuinely good guy. His staff is top notch too!
I went to Dr. Wright until I was about 18, loved him, great dentist. I have also gone to Dr. Lee in Clayton, OK but didn't take insurance and I really didn't care for the smoker's breath from him. Have been to Mooring and Mooring in Clayton by seemed like every time you went he wanted you to get somthing else that insurance didn't cover and you would end up spending $100 or more over your reular cleaning price. Go to Dr. R now and see Dr. McKennly(sp) and love it. They take insurance, office staff is very friendly, hardly any waiting (not over 10 mins) will work with payments as well. Great group!!!!!
Okay, the only thing I will say is,we went to Dr. R's office because it is closer to home than our usual dentist. Dr. Arthur. Well, my kids have never had any teeth issues. After one visit there, they have 10 cavities between them, and a recommended $3500 worth of work they want to do. We will be going back to Dr. Arthur and getting his opinion. Seems highly unlikely that in less than 1 yr that much could be wrong. Oh well, we'll see.
I would definitely get the second opinion. I asked about a crown there (to get a second opinion) and was told I also had to have a root canal. Went back to Dr. Rogers and got the crown, cheaper and with no root canal needed. No problems so far.
I began to notice that they seemed to have a "2 cavity rule". I decided to wait and see what they said about the cavities on the next visit. We often saw a different dentist each time and the previous cavities were never mentioned and two new cavities would be found. When we changed dentists we were found to be cavity free. Makes you wonder. They were very nice about it though.
I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes at Dr Folden Lee's office, and as an ex-smoker, I've never noticed "smoke breath" on him either. I love Dr Lee and his staff, which by the way, are always the same. They have like NO turnover!
Yeah, I saw that the last time I was in there. I am not a coffee drinker, but could definitely get used to the cocoa. I have never had to wait long in there (4042 location), either, like 10 mins. tops. I usually see Dr. Bakey. Have had a few fillings that needed repeated adjusting there, but other than that, no problems.
