Someone posted this on Facebook: If you HAD to choose... Would you rather be stranded on an island with someone with different political views or someone with different religious beliefs than you? (keep in mind - it's just you and this person)
I think it's a lot more important that people be able to discuss issues in a civil manner. Some of the best conversations involve exchanging different ideas, even about such hot-button issues as politics and religion, as long as it doesn't turn angry and devolve into name-calling.
Religious beliefs. I love to hear about other people's thoughts on religion, hopefully it would be a Buddhist. I just don't want to be stuck with someone who thinks I have to believe in their religion or religion in general. Sherry
Differing politics would be safer as there are no politicians on the island with you so any discussions would probably not get around to politics.
It wouldn't matter either way, as long as they didn't bother wasting their time trying to get me to convert to their views/beliefs or participate in their religious practicings. Considering that you're stuck on an island, it would be great to discuss different views and beliefs on a variety of topics.
Politcal ... because then I can ignore them because if I'm on an island with only one other person why woudl the politics count for anything? At least if they're the same religion I am we can both either go to heaven or hell together .... democratic or not?
You're in favor of giving away all the coconuts to the poor aren't you!? YOU COMMIE! YOU CAN'T REDISTRIBUTE THE COCONUTS! =(!! Either way, i don't care so long as they're intelligent enough to discuss the topics with to maintain sanity.
