I am looking for a local optometrist that is not REAL expensive. Currently have no insurance so I've got to pay for this one without insurance. Will need to have eye exam plus contact exam. Any suggestions and prices? Thanks!

LOVE Dr. Woodworth at Dr. Alan Byrd and Associates! They are right behind CVS in the big fancy building with the water fountain and the # is 639-2020

Thansk Jennifer - what about cost? The one I used to go to in Raleigh was about $100 for the total exam - without insurance. Thanks again!

I would assume the overhead would be higher ie. the pricing to afford that place... no knowledge just an assumption,,,

Dr. E at Walmart on 70 is the BEST!!! He was able to catch some complicated eye issues w/ some of our kids. Sent us onto specialists for 2 of them. Very professional. We were hesistant at first but definitely glad wewent. 7 of us go there. Other 2 have to see pediatric opthamologists. Great doc, nice guy, etc. Best part is, he truly knows his stuff & refers you somewhere else if you need further care. Price of exam: $70. That's w/ a thorough exam. Good luck.

I'll throw my two cents in for Dr. Stewart at the new Wal-Mart on 42. Really friendly, good with kids, and eager to help after the fact if you're still having issues (contacts were drying out on me).

Believe Dr. E. at Clayton Walmart is $150 for exam with contacts.

I really am not 100% sure on cost, but I do know that she always trys to help us out when she knows it's an out of pocket expense.
