Which means that NC will be one of the States extending unempolyment benefits by 13 additional weeks. My husbands claim expires in February and I wonder if he will still be able to get the additional 13 weeks or if that is only if the NC unemployment rate in Feb. is still above 8.5%?
I hope he gets an extension. I am glad the rate is down, but there are still people hurting who need those benefits extended. My hubby is about to start the unemployment process, unless something comes through in the next week or so. He has been looking for a year (when he learned of his impending termination) and while it is getting better, it is in no way OVER! I feel for you and I hope things improve for your family soon!! :grouphug:
Thanks!! I wish your husband luck in his job search and hope as well that things will improve for your family too :grouphug: It's so frustrating at times, sending out resumes for positions where you know he would be perfect for only to never hear a thing back. It seems like a lot of employers are taking advantage of the situation,he worked for someone a couple of weeks ago doing some grading in front of the new Walmart on 42,even in a foremans position got paid minimum wage, off course no benefits and here he still has not gotten paid for some of the time that he did work there :x Oh well,I do hope that eventually what goes around comes around!
