I would really like to get a puppy for our family. The kids are old enough now to appreciate & help take care of one. I want them to grow up together so need to get one before the kids get much older.
I've been looking online at shelter dogs and the ones that people have for sale but just haven't found the one for us.
Finding just the right one for our family is very important and its a very important decision for we aren't the sort of people to bring a little life into our home then decide he/she doesn't fit and it has to go. This will be permanant.
Our puppy has to fit our family & lifestyle.

    What we are looking for:
I've done much research on the different breeds & we have our hearts set on a Beaglier (a cross between a beatle & a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel). I've seen tons of beagles available but thats not what we want.
I can't seem to find any in North Carolina. Lots of pits & labs & regular beagles available but no beagliers.

I was looking for a small dog, I never heard of that breed.. I've heard of puggle which is a cross between and pug and a beagle.. Good Luck!

My advice for what it's worth: go to all the local shelters and see who you fall in love with! You may be surprised, and I truly believe that they know you rescued them and are grateful. Pound puppies are the best!!

I'm too soft-hearted. If I go to a shelter, I'd come home with a farm! lol.
Its all I can do to get out of the pet store emptyhanded. We went to Pet Smart recently & fell in love with a bird, a gerbil & a kitty but somehow we managed to tear ourselves away. I've seen photos of the pets at the shelter & their sad pleading eyes just break my heart.
Sadly, we're not in a position to accept more than one dog & the bad thing about shelter dogs (most of the time) is that their parentage is often unknown so you don't know how big they will be. We simply do not want a large dog. Not enough space (inside or out), can't afford to feed a big one, too cramped to ride in our small car & the boys are a little frightened by the bigger ones. I've seen pictures of beagliers & just fell in love.

Just call it what it is ...

a Mutt ... the best type of dogs. If not Full Blooded of one, then its a Mutt.

Designer names kill me -- JMO. Why is it if a malti & a poodle make a maltipoo (AKA mutt), then my pit & lab mix isn't advertised by BYB's as a PITADOR to make it sound good ?

    Just stating ........... a mutt - man's (or woman's) best friend.

Please don't BUY a mutt (malti poo, beaglier or whatever) .. small breeds can be found in rescues (which are generally living in foster homes so learning "home life") if a person will take the time to check each day.
