Michelle, I'm going to be honest with ya, that is not a direction I would go in, 17 or not. I think it screams "trying too hard". But that is just my opinion, which ain't worth much.

Which one? The original one or the "gunsmoke" looking one.

The original one. That bright red on the bottom is just a little too much. But again, take that with a grain of salt.

I realle thrift stores or Good Will. I have posted pics of DD in some of the dresses she has gotten at Good Will for $5. They do have some pretty dresses there. Also, if you wanted to add a little more bling to the dress, you can do it for next to nothing. Also there is Pizzaz on main street in Clayton that has some dresses. The two dresses below we got at Good Will.

Not sure of both dresses are on my FB in my photos, but and one of the dresses is shown off in my photos, titled Meghan, Father/Daughter Dance 02/20/2009. There are several pictures of her red dress there,

No ~ we got some lace from Walmart and some sheer fabric for the "front" of the dress. Needed to add a little more coverage.

I meant to add that the total I paid for each look, was around $26 a piece. The red dress included the dress and shoes and the white one included the dresses and the lace and sheer material. In reality, I like the red one on her the best. There was nothing wrong with either dress. DD has another dress hanging in her closet that she plans on wearing to prom this year, if she decides to go. I paid $4 for this one at The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Smithfield.

Thank you, thank you! It also helps that my daughter doesn't mind getting things at places like this. You can find some good deals, just have to look.
