Can we be more specific regarding the area. Between 50 and raleigh road, by 210 or sanders rd. Or PM neighborhood or cross roads. Thanks

I found out that a house in our neighborhood (Hunting Ridge) was broken into during the day on Tuesday as well.

Man, I'm so sorry to hear this. They might catch them eventually, but they can't undo what's been done.

This is probably common knowledge, but if your latch is properly adjusted you can't open them with a credit card.

The little semi-circular tang on the back of the latch should contact the face of the striker plate and not go in the hole when the door is closed- it prevents the latch from retracting unless the knob is turned.

Unfortunately, unless you have a steel door and a reinforced door frame a solid kick is usually enough to shatter the door frame anyway.

I found out not too long ago that the cards from Starbucks are perfect for using for this. They are rigid, but will bend over 90 degrees without breaking.

Sorry to hear about the break in, I got dead bolts and use them. I got some barking dogs as well, wouldn't hurt a flea, but most don't come up on my front porch because of the barking..I hope that is enough.
I hope they catch them soon.

I live in the same area.....Sanders Rd, West Watson, Raleigh Road, BH Parrish Rd have been getting hit hard. One occured Tuesday morning in my neighborhood a few doors down, I happened to be home that morning. Cop said the area has been hit really hard lately they are responding to SEVERAL break-ins in the area a day all occuring in the morning. Thank you to the neighbor that was home yesterday and able to describe the vehicle!!

You might want to delete that. You never know who might be reading this board and you just gave them an idea!

very scary. That is one reason I'm glad to have a dog - a german shepheard. We've never seen him mad, but I'm sure he could. He's very protective of us. (I don't really like having dogs, except for this reason)

I am thrilled to have had Harleygirl's hot husband install my alarm system. I feel safe, and they would have to get past 3 barking dogs as well. :)
