Yes, we are thinking "Sophie" or "Leela", but want to wait until the husband gets to meet her tonight. The daughter and I figured we should let him have SOME sort of input in this process! :hurray:

I'm so glad she is doing so well, thanks so much for sharing the picture with me, I saved it to share with others that have been helping me find a home for her.
    I'm very, very thankful!
    Your dogs are really cute!
Please again please keep me posted, I know in my heart this was the right thing for me to do, she is in a better place with a big yard to run in..and someone who is home with her being that she is scared this will help her.

I was wondering I never changed the name of Lucy the one I adopted a couple of years ago, I thought it would be more confusing to do so.
I guess with Roxy she is still so young that it shouldn't matter.

It really doesn't confuse them - when I worked at SPCA Wake we (the staff) had to come up with names for any dogs, or cats who came in as strays when they became ready for adoption. Within a couple of days hearing their new name, they responded to it. Lots of times, we'd run out of ideas for names and start using names of Shakespearean characters, or Greek Gods/Goddesses, we even used gemstones :) Sometimes, families would like a certain dog, but weren't nuts over calling their new family member 'Balthasar" and we'd tell them to just change it - no harm done.

If you think about it, how many nick-names have people come up with for their critters? I know all of mine have about 3 or 4 each and they answer to all of them. . .critters figure it out ;)

I am so glad it worked out well for everyone- I wanted her but we don't have anywhere for the humans to sit as it is. Plus I have a scrappy old lady dog!

You know I have never thought of that, all of my 3 dogs all have nick names and they come when called by all of them...Lucy Lu, Josie Mae, Toby little man, and Luc..Jos...Tobe..and a few others but it depends on what they did wrong lol Even "The Girls", of course Toby comes too, cause he doesn't know any better lol.

She is fitting in quite well with the brood. Wants to play all the time, and the older dogs are setting the limits. But there are 3 other dogs, so there is always one in the mood to play. Today she is a bit under the weather, but I think the heat is getting to all the dogs. We are making sure there is plenty of fresh water, and limit their time outside to only a few minutes at a time. Our sleeping arrangements have been figured out; she sleeps in bed with husband and me, and Monty the min pin. The other two girls sleep out in the living room. Since there are 3 people living here, she has become used to us all and no longer whines when I have to leave to go somewhere, since the other humans are just as good to hang out with. I am thinking in about a month, I can get her to the vet, and maybe look for the annual rabies clinic that Johnston county has for her rabies shot. I am pleased the the 2 fixed females are not aggressive at all with her, and they do truly behave as a pack.

Sophie has such a sweet personality, and is so kind to everyone - man and beast. She is a pleasure to have here; you will see how she likes her new "digs" when you come visit. Thanks Sheri, for allowing us to welcome her into our home!

Update on Sophie (Roxy): I just brought her home from her spaying appointment with POP-NC. She is doing fine; resting, with her new sisters and brother watching over her. She was so scared going this morning, as if she thought I was going to take her away in the car and never bring her back. As groggy as she is, her tail started wagging like crazy when her siblings greeted her by curious sniffs and licks. So I am happy she is now in her forever home!

Thanks Rushlow, for this very sweet little girl; she has certainly brought joy in our lives, and hopefully will be with us a very, very long time!

When she is feeling better, I'll take a picture so y'all can see how big she has grown and how happy all the dogs are together!

You don't know how happy this makes me to hear this wonderful news, and how she has fit right in with you guys! This makes my day for sure! :)
I would love to see pics of her when you get a chance.
As for the cat the ex-roommate left as well, he gets fixed on the 26th this month at the Wake clinic. All the cats here will get fixed, can you even think what it's like having 4 males ugh. lol.
