DH found a dead puppy in a trash bag today near Umstead in Clayton. Whoever you are, you are a pitiful excuse for a human being and someone should leave your dead carcass in a plastic bag for someone to stumble across.:evil::evil:

    Amen.

To all those folks that think it is wrong to spay/neuter: please think about it.

Geesh ... people people people -

to top it off in regards to spay & neuter as well ... below ad is frustrating - no fault of the poor baby or the mom & dad that birthed it ... all human fault for not being responsible as she offhandedly states

    Description
I HAVE JUST ONE MORE LEFT OUT OF 9 IT IS A FEMALE AND SHE IS JUST A LITTLE OVER 10 WEEKS OLD. SHE IS EXTREMELY PLAYFUL AND LOVES CHILDREN. SHE IS THE COLOR OF A TACO BELL DOG IF YOU HAVE EVER SEEN ONE OF THEM. SHE IS PART PITT AND SHEPHERD. SHE NEEDS A HOME, I CANNOT TAKE CARE OF HER ANYMORE, HAVE TOO MANY ALREADY AND NEED TO LET HER GO. I AM ASKING FOR ONLY 75.00. HATE TO HAVE TO BRING HER TO THE POUND, BUT IF I CANNOT SELL HER THAT IS WHAT I AM GOING TO HAVE TO DO. AND I WOULD HATE TO SEE IF NO ONE WAS TO TAKE HER, THEY WOULD ONLY END UP PUTTING HER DOWN SINCE THE VETS ARE JUST SOOO OVER CROWDED NOW AS IT IS, ACCORDING TO THE LOCAL VET. SO PLEASE EMAIL ME FOR SOME INFO AND GIVE HER A BRAND NEW LOVING HOME. A PLACE WHERE SHE COULD BE JUST LOVED AND CARED FOR. THANKS AND HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU. LAURIE

Nice!! Dogs are disposable apparently. GAH!!

Someone posted on here in the classifieds the other day looking to breed their dog. I responded to the ad................but I'm sure it wasn't the response they were looking for.

I always love how they post like an 8-10wk old puppy and say how they are friendly and good with children. Like they are not all friendly and good with children before some irresponsible/horrible person gets a hold of them.

I know someone who was looking for a stud to breed with their female. It was all good intentions because they wanted one of their dog's puppies and had others who wanted some as well. Not everyone who is looking for stud service is doing it for wrong reasons. I'm all in favor of adopting from shelters and rescue organizations, but there is also nothing wrong with wanting a puppy from your own dog if you are responsible about it.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but what happens to the rest of the litter?

They'll be taken in by people who otherwise might have gotten a shelter animal, so that many more shelter animals will not find homes.

And I don't want to be argumentative so of course

this is all my opinion/feelings about it ...

Responsibility is a big word and once "said pups" of a litter went out to new homes, how can one be sure that those ppl are really responsible in the long run Unless you Adopt them out for a fee that includes their already being spayed/neutered from your own pocket?

Also, although I can appreciate a family pet and how much love they give & hopefully get in return, there'd be no reason for one of its pups .. it wouldn't necessarily be the same type of dog personality wise or even in appearance. So just make happy memories with the current dog (instead of breeding it for a pup) and know that its a wonderful, unique dog that can never be replaced when its time for it to move on to doggie heaven.

No dog should be bred unless full pedigree with papers, show dog, not overabundance of them (ie.. full blooded boxers are now ending up in shelters regularly just like pits do) already existing as homeless pets...

Anyhow - I tried hard to ignore the post about breeding to have one of its pups .. then I did post & got carried away as usual. Easy to do when you witness what cruelty goes on with (most) animals that they end up homeless.
