We only go every few years, have not gone in about 4 yrs. So we might go this year. Anyone else going? I see a lot of people saying on wral the cost is to much or because of the flu. I don't think the cost is that much, unless you have kids, though I don't think I would let my kids ride on those rides.
Went yesterday for lunch. Of course not everything was up yet. Probably not going this year for the real deal.
Go Sunday so you won't have to use that crying towel when you get your butts whoopped up on...:cheers:
Food can be expensive - but when we go we usually pick a few favs and spilt them. Not going this year, every 2-3 yrs is enough for me.....besides, I'm on a diet, lol!
I have only missed one year in the last 20+ so yes, we plan to go. I was born & raised to go to the NC state fair!
Today is the last day to buy pre-sale tickets. $18.00 book of tickets for $10.00. You will need approximately 1 book per ride. :x
We bought a couple of advance tickets for $5. We'll probably go mid to late next week (but probably not the weekend unless we get there when they first open).
Steelers, are not doing well this year, but we play the browns Sunday, so no worries The game not on TV either
We are going.....maybe next Wednesday when the kids get out for early release from school. My boss has bought our tickets to get in and about 90 ride tickets..... how can I not go ??
We more than likely aren't going. But neither ds has seen the commercials yet. The last time I went to the fair was probably in 94 or 95. And it was too crowded for me then..
Sounds right, but the $5 online may end today, and I think I saw there was a surcharge for buying on-line - not sure though. They've also got some places (I got ours at the Farmers Market, since I was there anyway) that you can buy them in advance through today.
LOL, no you don't. There are 18 tickets per book and most rides are 3-5 tickets. The "super" rides are 6 tickets each. I'm not going because I don't like crowds (I have anxiety). DD will be going tomorrow and she can have all the fun for me!
I think they're selling them at Crabtree mall too? check here: http://www.ncstatefair.org/2009/ http://www.wral.com/entertainment/statefair/?navkeyword=state+fair they have a section for going on a budget
Don't see Crabtree listed - right from the link above: Advance tickets end online Thursday at midnight. Don't wait! Buy now and save time and money at the following locations until 6 p.m.: Burlington Square Mall, Burlington University Mall, Chapel Hill Northgate Mall, Durham N.C. Museum of History, Raleigh N.C. State Fairgrounds Gate 9, Raleigh State Farmers Market, Raleigh Triangle Town Center, Raleigh Wilson Mall, Wilson
My son thinks he wants to go, but chances are we'll probably skip it. Besides the expense of buying tickets, ride coupons, food, etc., we've got too many other irons in the fire so to speak. Our economic recovery isn't occurring as fast as I'd like to go out and spend too excessively.
Yep!!! Going this Saturday w/ my sister (have decent floor tickets for Kellie Pickler!) and next Saturday (have FRONT ROW tickets for Blake Shelton!). I have a single FR ticket for Jamey Johnson on Monday. I may or may not go; depends on how I feel that day. My sis and I were in Gatlinburg aroudn the time of the fair alst year, so I didn't get to go. I go mainly for the ocncerts (even w/ the bad sound), food and exhibits. I don't normally go on Saturday, but that's how it worked out this time. Hopefully, we won't get squished in the crowds - LOL! I am on a diet, but I will have to have NC State ice cream, roasted corn, Al's Fries and a Miss Debbie's Specialty Caramel apple - yum! My sis and I will split one of each, except for the apple (that's all mine!!!).
My son (age 7) and I will go one day next week, bought advance tickets and he worked a little extra around the house to earn some money for games. We usually split food so it's not too bad. It is an expense but we actually save up money for it so we can go and have fun! Just a Mom and Son day out kind of thing
