We just had someone come to our door asking for donations for the Cleveland Fire Dept....is this legit? We gave money, so I sure hope so!
I am always weary of that and I never donate any money. I look at it as my tax dollars help out. Now if the fire fighter's have a fund raiser at the fire department I would give. They should now better with the crime that going door to door is risky asking for money.
You are exactly right,your tax money goes directly to the fire dept, and we know that money shouldnt be used for anything other than official FD business, thats why we use the picture fundraiser proceeds (which goes to the FF association) to do other projects with. The more support we get, the more support we give back. The level of service provided has nothing to do with who does, or does not support the fundraisers we dont keep records of that,as it is irrelivant.
no not asking for money, selling portraits only.if you choose to purchase a portrait, we recieve a % of the initial purchase, after you view your portrait, and if you want another package, they keep all of those proceeds.
