Kids in 34 states sickened by pet turtles.

OK, so we have a pet turtle as some of you know. And we know that turtles can carry salmonella. How do you not KNOW this?? You are going to let your kids put a turtle in their mouth? Swim with it? Walk on you kitchen counter? DUH!!!

Whenever our turtle is handled, hands are washed with anit-bacterial soap and then hand sanitizer is used just in case. When the tank is cleaned, any sink/tub surfaces are bleached. This new tank came with a neat siphon hose that you can run outside and no dirty water is even near my sinks, etc. now.

Once again, I'm thinking parenting might ought to require licensing. :?
