We are currently on lockdown in our building. Someone has been shot outside of Fidelity bank at the corner of US 70 & Yeargan Rd.
I'm not at the bank but I am VERY close. They have captured the guy now so all is ok. That was scary for a while!
It is on WRAL, it was a guy I graduated with, thank goodness the injuries are not life threatening but such a Scary, Random act!
Holy smokes! I go through that intersection twice a day and if it had happened an hour and a half later it could have been me or one of my co-workers! Garner man shot at traffic light Posted: Today at 10:43 a.m. Updated: Today at 1:51 p.m. Garner, N.C. — A man was shot Wednesday morning during an apparent robbery attempt at a Garner intersection, police said. Cameron Vernon Albright, 28, of Garner, was shot once in the upper body, and police said his wound wasn't life-threatening. WATCH VIDEO Sky 5 coverage of shooting near Garner bank Police said Albright was in a Toyota pickup and was stopped at a traffic light at U.S. Highway 70 and Yeargan Road shortly after 10 a.m. when a man approached on foot and asked for a cigarette lighter. The two men engaged in a discussion, which ended with the man on foot shooting Albright, police said. Albright drove into the parking lot of a nearby Fidelity Bank branch, ran inside and had someone call 911. Garner police, Wake County Sheriff's Office deputies and state Highway Patrol troopers searched for the gunman, and officers found a man matching the description of the gunman at a former food distribution center near Vandora Springs Road and Methodist Drive, about a half-mile away from the scene of the shooting. The man tried to run from police but was arrested after a brief chase on foot. Police were still searching for the gun used in the shooting early Wednesday afternoon, and no charges had been filed.
Can someone please remind me where Yeargan Rd is? Is it down near IHOP area? Or am I completely confused?
In all honesty if it had been me....911 would have been called, but they wouldn't have had to search or chase the guy down, nor would they still be looking for a gun.......the man and the gun would have been laying in the middle of the intersection waiting for the police to draw a chaulk outline.
