Many yrs ago an employee almost killed my dad on a jobsite after my dad fired him. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury (emerg. Brain surgery) and he was sentence to 7 yrs. He was up for parole the first time after 9 months and was denied. He was up again at 11 months and was reeleased. The guy had at least 5 previous arrests and convictions. Since, he has been arrested at least 5 more times, one of them being for assault on a police officer. Last I checked, he's a free man. Really??
My younger brother was shot at point black range about 5 years ago after a dispute with his friend. It severed the artery in his shoulder and almost caused amputation of his arm. he eventually recovered. The guy served less than 2 years only because I fought and fought with the Prosector to not drop the charges altogether. It was the guy's word against my brother's.. A sad thing.
I don't have much faith in our judicial system right now either. Did you know that someone outside of law enforcement can report a violation to the highway patrol and they can issue a ticket even though they did not witness it? So basically if you tick someone off they can say you did something you didn't and in court it's your word against theirs! Road rage taken to a whole new level! And no, this didn't happen to me but to someone else I know who absolutely did NOT do what she is accused of.
are you sure about that? my truck was stolen last weekend and we knew who took it. the officers did nothing. the guy that took it wa drunk and high. we had to do all the paper work ourselves. they wouldn't even go with us to get the truck once it had been found even with me telling them there would be a killing if we went alone. i have no faith in the legal system.
