Hey all, i need 2 tires and a front end alignment, hit a lovely pot hole on 1010 on the way to work and it feels like the front end of my car is gonna shake off. Need to find a good job for a great price, money is extremely tight right now. Who do you all recommend?
I only clicked on this because I noticed that a woman wrote it and a woman replied. That seemed odd for a thread titled "Tires and Alignment". Clayton Tire is the only one I have been to in Clayton. They aren't cheap, but they seemed honest. I take mine to a place in Raleigh near work.
They are honest in my experience. A bit brusque, at times, but they are extremely busy. I can tell you not to take it to K&W's in Clayton or the Merchant Tire in Knightdale. :?
Last time my car, truck or van was in the shop was at K&W's on O'Neil St. I know one of the techs there. well.....I'll just shut the **** up now :?
Hopefully he wasn't there during the debacle with DH's car last year. You know, the one that left me stranded, alone, along the side of I-95 in Richmond on a Sunday night. Just a few hundered miles after they did major engine work. Which, according to 2 subsequent mechanics WAS caused by the "work" they did. No offense to your friend, but I will never, ever darken their door again after the way we were treated afterwards. I had recommended them for years and had even gotten my boss to use them.
AND the last time my car died was in the parking lot ~ it was the battery, BJ's SOLD the battery but wouldn't put it in my car? WHAT THE .... BEEP...... BEEP .... BEEEEEEPPPPP........ I had to call DH to come down, because that's NOT a part of MY job.
Girl, don't worry! I just had over $800 worth of **** done to my car and it really don't even feel like (at the steering wheel) that anything was done. I won't be back either. For NONE of our vehicles.
We went there for brake line replacement. For some reason that didn't make any sense to us, they felt the need to remove the gas tank to do the work. WHen they put it back in, they neglected to hook up the gas line, and when I started putting gas in the truck, it just poured all over the ground until we noticed (about $10 worth). So of course husband called to complain; they told him to bring it back and they would fix it. They hooked it back up; no apology, no offer to reimburse us for gas or anything. I would certainly steer clear of a place like this. An honest mistake, forgetting to hook up the gas line? Perhaps. But at least own up to it, don't act like your customer is inconveniencing you by requesting that you fix what you messed up... Just passing on our experience with this place.
Ouch.................wish I had gotten off that cheap though. I blew the engine and it had to be replaced.
TAG Automotive. Bobby does great work at reasonable prices. I recently bought 4 Michelins from him at the best price in the area. Better than BJ's and Walmart (I checked first). Probably the closest to you also.
I would call the DOT and report the pothole. Didn't I read somewhere that the DOT is responsible to fix your car if you hit a pothole.?
OMG! I'd like to see that AND they can pay me for a new rim for my car also? I won't hold my breath.:lol::lol:
Go figure.... This is a womens thing I see.... always did feel ya'll shouldn't be operating a vehicle... a vacuum and a blender is dangerous enough let alone a car.
I have heard that before, might be worth a try! We just used Cleveland Auto for alignment last week, approx $70.
