Speaking of German bread recipes ...... Does anyone on this list have a good (tried & true) Stollen Bread recipe?
Thanks Annette. Last year I tried 2 recipes from the internet with not so great results, but this recipe is very different from those two. I'll let you know how it comes out! Thanks again!
You're welcome!! If you can't find the candied orange and lemon peel you can also leave it out and just use a few more raisins instead,I've also used chopped up dried apricots instead before can't wait to find out how it will turn out! PS: a good way to let the yeast dough rise is to put the bowl with the dough in the sink which is filled with warm water, about 3/4ters up the outside of the bowl
That looked delish, Annette! Frosty is done, Thing I REALLY likes him. lol Tomorrow we're going to beat him with a bat and eat his insides.
I used the mint oreos and I thought they were just a little too gooey, but still good! I think the problem was there's not as many cookies in the flavored bags as the regular, so if I make them again I'd use just a little less than 1 block of cream cheese. Also - even after I chilled them, when I tried to dip them in choc, the balls kept falling apart! finally I sent DH to FL to get come of the choc dip/coating stuff - worked much better!
I froze them before I tried to dip them, worked great. Except now I have to venture out to get the ingrediants for more because there aren't enough left to take up to the relatives, LOL.
