Not a good day today, 1-10-10

Folks, some of you have seen this on FB, others not.

Lost a great friend and mentor today, in an apparent murder-suicide case. Nothing can be done for them now, but the children are OK as far as I know. One can never understand these kinds of things. I like the world a whole lot less with my friends not in it.

Hatteras - sooo sorry for your loss. I haven't seen any news or your facebook posting coving this ... but it sounds tragic for all involved. It's one thing to lose a loved one if you know it's coming and you have a little time to say goodbye - but it's really rough when it's as unexpected and tramatizing as something like this would be. I can't imagine any kids could really be ok after something as horrific as this. I'm sure it will be helpful to them to know that they could lean on a family friend like yourself if need be. :grouphug:

It must be something about this year...one of my friends from high school was murdered by her boyfriend last week who then killed himself. Very sad situation... Her murder was in SC, not here in Jo Co.

 

The brother of an someone we know in NH also was involved in a murder-suicide last week. 2010 doesn't seem to be off to a good start.

 

There is a wise old saying "Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors."

Unfortunately, nobody will ever know what REALLY happened in any of these cases.

 

Against my better judgment, I read the initial autopsy report.

The SO also identified the family friend he called, who notified 911. It was his office manager, who had been a part of his medical practice since he established it in 1991. She and I were good friends, as well. Now, she is guilt ridden because she feels that she could have called 911 or done something else, that some of this cold have been prevented.
