Due to hydraulic overload from intense rainfall, the Johnston County wastewater transmission system experienced a sewage overflow from a manhole at 1801 Industrial Drive in the Town of Selma on the morning of January 25th.

An estimated 3,000 gallons of wastewater flowed into an unnamed tributary of Buffalo Creek. The spill has been reported to the North Carolina Department of Natural Resources – Division of Water Quality.

For information, call the Johnston County Department of Utilities at (919) 989-5075.
