My mom used to make it whenever it snowed but then I was born during early 50's.

Yep, made 3 batches yesterday. One plain, one chocolate and one with real strawberries in it.

Froze some for summer time too!

In Tupperware. Then when we're ready to eat it, I just let it sit out on the counter for a little while till it gets to the consistency we want.

I spent my first 20 years in an area that averages about 90 inches of snow and 3 years in the mountains of VA where they get a fair amount of snow, yet I had never heard of snow cream until I lived in JoCo.

Me too. I have lived all over the country and had never heard of this, of course there are other southern delicacies I have not heard of either like Pig Pickin Cake, Chocolate Eclaire (instant pudding and graham crackers - anyone?), and Cherry Crisp. According to Wikipedia, Snow Cream is an old European treat found in 15th/16th century Dutch recipe collections.

The best southern delicacy - and it must be southern, I had not heard of it before and it has pecans as part of the topping lol - is Fudgy Wudgy cake served warm. Mmmm!

What part of VA? We are originally from Wythe Co. Va although I spent several years in Alleghany Co. Both of them are absolutely snowed in right now.
