me either lol! - and mine did not get that either.....less than $100 for my dd's last yr at David's bridal - shoes and accessories - plus we paid for limo, dinner, dance ticket (she didn't go w/ a date - just a bunch of friends went together) probably less than $300 total, and no professional photos, just took our own - her suggestion since we'd already spent a bunch on Sr pics and grad stuff.
Talk about spending too much money on something . . the prices they want for senior pics are ridiculous! No way would I pay $600 for a tiny package of pictures. My boss is a photographer and she took DD's for free and then I had them printed at the lab in Garner VERY cheaply. I even ordered one of those nice senior photo albums for proofs from a company online. Total investment was about $30.
Yep - I agree w/ ya on that one! Wish we'd shopped around more - but we're happy w/ what we got. We didn't get the biggest package, but I think we could've done better elsewhere. Oh well, live and learn (right here on 4042)!
If I even thought my daughter's would be on the floor somewhere somebody's thing would be cut off and I'd sew her up!!
They get a limo and fill it up........if you divide the cost up it only runs about $20.00 per person. By having them go in a limo (in my mind) there is no parking somewhere after prom. Also it is safer because some of these kids drive crazy. You'll love this .................. some get a "Party Bus" and invitations are passed out to who can be on that bus. I know from a friend whose son was on it last year the name says it all. Sherry
What size limo and how many kids are you packing in it for $20 per kid???? Which service do you use cause I think I may be using the wrong one!
Depends on the size of the kids ..... stretch limo 15 to 17 kids and regular limo 8 to 10 kids. We push them in! http://www.safarilimo.com/index.htm They have a 15% off sale if you book by the 28th of Feb. for prom. Sherry
We went with Blue Diamond Limo again this year. I think it was MNRedsky who recommended them and they are absolutely wonderful. They go above and beyond to make the kids feel special. We get the 10 passenger limo and by the time you get the girls in with their fluffy dresses it usually fits 6 comfortably.
Did y'all find a dress yet, Sherry? Have you ever been to the formal wear outlet in Hillsborough? They have over 4,000 dresses for $95 each.
Nope, haven't gone shopping yet. We have narrowed it down to two stores but my daughter just turned 18 and the party is still a rockin' at our house. We'll probably go after school this week. Sherry
Please read today's N&O. Safari Limo does not have a good reputation. http://www.newsobserver.com/news/local_state/story/348479.html?storylink=misearch
Blue Diamond Limo is the best there is. It's also a woman-owned business. http://bluediamondlimo.com/ 772-9595
If anyone chooses a service or product based on it being "woman owned," is that not a form of prejudice?
Not really. It means that the company will: a) have their poop together and show up on time b) not be afraid to stop and ask directions if they get lost  c) be very attentive just to name a few
