My apologies for not getting back to you, db, but I have a stomach virus that is bad.

I did send our suggestion to as many politicians as I could at that time. I did make sure to send it to the White House and our representative in Kentucky. Hopefully they will listen to our suggestion. Will keep you abreast.

Is it going around? I was pretty bad all day yesterday and last night. Feeling somewhat better today.

    From CNN

Senate OKs $10 billion measure to extend jobless benefits, fund road projects after Sen. Jim Bunning ends filibuster.

    Good news Hught.

To the Nay Sayers: Take an average of $250 per year in UE tax. Take a worker like myself who's never drawn UE for 41 straight years of working. Compound that yearly at 5% simple interest. If you've put my tax where it belongs to start with, you owe me $31,960.00 in benefits. Now put a better and more appropriate interest rate on safe-line investments over the past 41 years of market record, 9%. You now owe me $92,323.00 in benefits.

Don't 'tax me' with a facade of financial protection if you're not going to 'pay me' when I come to collect on the "MANDATORY" insurance you've been charging me! You ********** nay sayers want me to pay and then shut up when I come to get my money? Kiss my ___! Shut up your whining about government and pay up!

Note to you ding dongs: Combine the Wall Street bailouts and what has been given to the unemployed. 96% went to Wall Street. And 4% has, so far, gone to the unemployed. Less than 200 recipients took a total of 96%, Millions of recipients took total of 4%. If the 200 recipients had invested the money to increase employment and not pilfering it, the millions wouldn't need the 4%.

What is wrong with holding down 2 or 3 part time jobs while looking for a job? Isn't that typically how it is done? You're in a job that you don't enjoy and are ready to move on, so you start applying for jobs while still employed, right?

Because it's easier to blame Bush for bailing out Wall Street (or whatever ddrdunce comes up with next).

the premise of your argument is false to begin with, imho. what you should be ****ed about is the amount you've been forced to pay into they system in the first place, while others have drawn out more than they've deposited. and now they want to draw out more? what if we decided that the limit would be the actual amount you have deposited over your working lifetime and not a penny more? you can take it in 6 months or 5 years for all i care, but that's not what's happening...

    What road projects were funded?

There were a number of them that they stated halted work as of Monday (can't remember the exact number but there were at least 20 of them).

Oh, terminology. The projects were not funded, just the salaries of the FHWA inspectors.
