If one was to file a claim this week and then go back to work in a month or two, after informing NCESC about having returned back to work would that claim still run for a year or end as soon as you inform them about having gone back to work?
If it ends as soon as you go back to work, should you be able to then file a new claim IF you become unemployed again down the road?
    Thanks in advance!

you only get a check for the weeks you are not working.
Your case is closed when you go to work. I believe you would open a new case IF YOU get laid off again. If you quit, you will have to wait a few more weeks.

Unless you don't go back with full time hours, in which case you could receive partial benefits.

  5. When you open a claim that starts your benefit year - what ever your weekly pay from NCESC is when you file is what your pay will be if you file again within that year.

Example: You opened a claim in February, filed weekly until you went back to work in April. Your benefit year starts in February. If you were to be laid off again and need to refile for benefits say in August then you will just refile, your benefits will stay the same until February of the next year.

    Hope that helps :)
