Downtown Smithfield NC - The 26th Annual Ham & Yam Festival is going back to its country roots on May 1-2, 2010 with the announcement of national Country artist – Blackhawk as the festival’s headlining entertainment. Beginning at 8:30pm on Saturday May 1, the FREE outdoor concert at the Stevens Sausage Pavilion at the Neuse River Amphitheater will cap off the night of the outstanding entertainment line-up at the 2010 festival. The event, hosted by the Downtown Smithfield Development Corporation will also feature crafts expo, food from local restaurants and nonprofits, and fun activities for the entire family. During the mid-‘90s, Blackhawk became one of the most successful new country groups on the scene. With a dozen top ten hits to their credit and multi-platinum album sales that exceed seven million records, they have carved out their own place in music history. Festival attendees will be excited to hear old favorites like “Goodbye Says It All,” “Every Once In A While,””That’s Just About Right”, “There You Have It,” “Almost A Memory Now,” “Like There Ain’t No Yesterday” and “Postmarked Birmingham” among other notable hits.
