'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not
    protect you.'

Here's an early wish to you: HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

    Newborn's Conversation With God.

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but
how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"
God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to
do anything but sing and smile to be happy."

God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you.
And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the small child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand
when people talk to me if I don't know the language?"

God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words
you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will
    teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you
    how to pray."

    "Who will protect me?"

God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."

God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you
the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth
could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now,
please tell me my angel's name.."

God said, You will simply call her, Mom."

Happy early Mother's Day to my wonderful mom. Thank you for putting up with me all these years and thank you for being my best friend. I love you more than words could ever say.

    Mother Prayer

    Dear Lord,
    today we pray for mothers--
our own mothers, and mothers everywhere,
who have made such a major contribution
to the good qualities we have,
    sometimes through genetics,
more often through great effort and patient instruction,
and who have done their best
to gently polish away our rough edges.
    Lord, please bless our mothers
for the endless hours of time they spent
and the boundless energy they invested in us.
Bless our mothers for their sacrifices on our behalf
as they often gave up or deferred their own dreams
so that we could have ours.
Bless our mothers for always being there for us,
for being the person we know we can turn to
when we need comfort, encouragement, or just a hug.
Bless our mothers for making a home for us
where we could feel safe, where we felt we belonged.
    Most of all, Lord,
bless our mothers for their unconditional love,
for loving us no matter what,
    and for frequently showing love
in ways that make us feel valued and cherished.
Lord, please bless our mothers mightily.
    Strengthen them, soothe them,
wrap them in Your infinite love
    and shower them with blessings
too numerous to count, too magnificent to describe.
We love them, admire them, respect them,
and we wish that You would give them back
many times the good they gave to us.
In Jesus' name we pray; Amen.

Thanks, but I'm not trying to upstage their Momma, they still got one that loves them very much.

I'll wait till next month for kudos, assuming I'm still around, The Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise!!

    Legacy of an Adopted Child

    Once there were two women,
    Who barely knew each other.
One is in your heart forever,
    The other you’ll call mother.

    Two different lives,
    Shaped to make yours one.
    One became your guiding star,
    The other became your sun.

    The first gave you life,
And the second taught you how to live it.
The first gave you a need for love,
And the second was there to give it.

    One gave you a nationality,
The other gave you a name.
One gave you the seed of talent,
The other gave you an aim.

    One gave you emotions,
    The other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile,
    The other dried your tears.

    One gave you a family,
It was what God intended for her to do.
The other prayed for a child,
And God led her straight to you.

    And now you ask me
    Through your tears,
The age old question through the years.

    Heredity or environment…
Which are you a product of?
    Neither, my darling… neither,
Just two different kinds of love.

On the announcement after I adopted my daughter the first two lines on the announcement were:

    I was not Expected

    I was Selected

One of my favorite Mother's Day presents ever was a 10" chain saw! 8)

We were clearing a lot to build a new house, and DH's chain saw was too big and heavy for me to use for long, but I loved my little McCulloch.

    Sherry, that's really cute.

My mother hung this in my bedroom:

    Not flesh of my flesh,
    Nor bone of my bone,
    But still miraculously my own.

Never forget for a single minute,
You didn't grow under my heart,
    But in it.

Mine was a gas grill. Still have it and it's in perfect condition. My daughter loves to grill on it now and use the side burner.

I need new bathroom slippers........anyone want to put that suggestion in my daughter's ear?

KDs kind of said this but........I've always received a card for both Mother and Father's Day. Do understand when they still have a mom around but if one parent helps with homework, sports, church, etc. I think they should get both cards.
