AAHH!! My 10 yo wants to do some kind of "fishing" summer camp. I looked at the 4H site posted on here, but it's full. I couldn't find anything at Jordan Lake, Town of Garner, where else can I look? any ideas? Even just a daytime thing would be fine. He's already doing a nature camp in Garner for a week, and the science camp at the library, but trying to find other things for his age. He loves animals, outdoors, science, anything hands-on that can get him dirty really.
Check with the City of Raleigh. I know for a fact that Lake Wheeler has summer camps which involve fishing...
If you can't find a summer camp ... You're welcome to bring your boys over to my neck of the woods sometime & we can take them fishing in the neighborhood lake
Here is a link to a class sponsored by the Wildlife Resources Commission at Lake Raleigh (on Centennial Campus). I think we are also offering it at Lake Wheeler later in the Summer. These classes are great and FREE, but they fill up fast so I would call ASAP... https://www.ncwildlife.org/Apps/CentennialEdPrograms/ProgramDetail.asp?txtID=7497®ion=5 There is also a Hunting/Trapping class later in the Summer too...
