Anyone know when it is at Cleveland Middle??? I've heard nothing. I've received nothing. Even went through my son's backpack to make sure he didn't "forget" to give me something. Not a thing mentioned. Are they having one this year? I know the awards are Wednesday. If someone knows, please share. Thanks. Stephanie-- mom to 7
Thanks a bunch! Of course it conflicts w/ some of the others at the same time. LOL. I hate these decisions. Congrats to all the high schoolers. stephanie--mom to 7
Yeah, they are doing 8th grade graduations with a dance in today's world. I think it is a waste by my daughter enjoyed it. One problem I have with these things is that many parents cannot afford all of this. No child should be left behind on any of this. Sherry
Kind of like the money being spent on proms now. crazy. I had my dads car, no limo, and a rented tux. went to a nice rest with friends. now its limo's etc etc. guess i'm getting old. walked to school uphill both ways in the snow, i remember when candy was a nickle lol.
I've heard some of the schools did an after hours 5th Grade "graduation". Luckly, ours is NOT. Kinda silly, but to each their own.
When I was a teacher in day care (no laughing) we had pre school graduations. :? how about "yeah for you, you're going to the big boy/girl school in August"
Oh, we had that too, complete with a little white cap and gown. OK, he looked extremely cute in that get-up, but it was a bit of overkill. I must explain though, that I am not a terribly sentimental person about stuff like that. On the other hand, my son had me bawling like a baby last night over something sweet he did for me, completely on his own. Those are the moments that make it all worthwhile.
I'll have to tell you about what happened at JK's house over the weekend, it was adorable. Mini JK is so awesome. call me when you get a minute.
Hey West View did and i went and i thought it was great. The kids got to walk across the stage and get their diploma and on the stage for all their awards. They held it at West Johnston. It was no big expense for anybody, the kids just dressed up and had a good time. We did the same thing when i graduated 5th grade back in the dark ages and i still remember it so i am glad they still do it.
They are doing something similar at Riverwood, but it's the awards ceremony at 9:00 am and there are not caps and gowns involved. Hey, if they'd have had it, I'd have gone and been the proud momma, LOL. I had to sit through the awards at scouts last night too. Some things you just gotta suck it up and go to.
yeah, they didn't do caps & gowns either, i think that would have been a little over the top. Y'all made me remember, i still have the video of my youngest's nursery school graduation - gotta pull that out to show his wife:lol:
