Hi all: I know there are going to be fireworks at Cleveland but just wondering if they will be as good as in the past. I saw that they were asking for money to help buy fireworks, so that concerns me. Anyone know for sure?
Smithfield’s Annual Independence Celebration scheduled for Monday, July 5 Free Ice-cream to first 500 Veterans or Active Duty Military Personnel (Smithfield, NC) – The Downtown Smithfield Development Corporation and the Smithfield Parks and Recreation will host Smithfield’s annual Independence Celebration at the Historical Smithfield Town Commons on Monday, July 5, 2010.Beginning at 5:00 pm, the scheduled afternoon and evening festival will be filled with games, and musical entertainment for the entire family. The event will conclude with a traditional fireworks display at 9:30pm. The lineup of entertainment acts include: Ragged Company – Folk / Bluegrass - 5:00 - 6:00 Coco Loco – Beach / Top 40 – 6:00pm-9:30pm Fireworks: 9:30pm Also added to this year’s event is a free scoop of ice-cream to any veteran or active duty military person. The ice-cream is provided by Orchard House Books and Coffee and will be limited to the first 500 individuals who show valid veteran or active duty identification. As an added treat, the Smithfield Kiwanis Quartet will perform various patriotic tunes during the fireworks display. The Smithfield Town Commons is located on Front Street in Downtown Smithfield. It has been a couple of years since I have been but I thought the show was good. No long pauses, plenty of noise and colors. My 2 y/o grandaughter loved it too!
