My boys both have the DSlite and for their birthday I am planning on either upgrading to the DSiXL or getting them the ipod touch. They will be 9 and 11. Any thoughts/suggestions? If we upgrade, I will trade in or sell the DSlite. If we go with the ipod touch, they will keep the DSlite. Price is essentially the same for either. Thanks, Karen
My 10 yo son has ipod touch. My 7 yo has dsi (not xl). I think the ipod is much easier to use, u can put music on it, and is just-better. But the dsi you can use as a camera (not great pics tho) and if u dont want them on internet its easier to block. Theres also email and tons of free games on the ipod...
I 2nd the iPod touch....my kids L O V E theirs....you can use it as a camera, get wifi on it(anywhere there is a signal), play games, watch videos/movies, as well as have your music. there are tons of free apps too.
ok, just talked to my kids (LOL), since they have one and I don't... and they said it does not take actual pictures, but you can go to your Facebook, or any other site site and take a picture of a picture and have it on your iPod touch as a wallpaper or a photo. Sorry for saying it was a camera....I thought all those pics on theirs had been taken with the actual iPod.
We got our 11 year old the DSiXL for his birthday and he loves it. I'm not familiar with Ipod stuff.............so we just went with what we knew.
I got my DS a DSiXL for his birthday this year and he loves it! You can take pictures and then manipulate them into funhouse type photos and of course ALL THE GAMES. He is 12 and I thought he might be too old for the games but there are a lot he has found to enjoy-ask my wallet!!!
