I usually left my light off until after my son was born. I tried the "leave a small bag and please only take one" a few years ago. That didn't work out as we were walking up the street with our small child we could hear the kids behind us bragging that they just took all of the our candy. We had a lady across the street that always gave only 1 small piece of candy. My son started to remember and didn't want to go there because of that. We just moved so will be fun to see what happens where we are now. We are actually having trunk or treat in the neighborhood a week ahead so that should be fun.
