If I remember correctly a fighter jet was seen flying in the area. I'm sure the pilot just got a little heavy handed with the after burner and went supersonic.

 

Yes, there had been an airshow down east somewhere. They never did own up to it though.

 

Nah, that wasn't it. I've been through a sonic boom and that wasn't one.

 

Could a sizable meteorite cause a natural boom as it skips into the earth's atmosphere? If it isn't natural, maybe its a "X" aircraft.
