DWI Suspect Charged With Fighting Trooper During Vehicle Stop A Johnston County man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly fought with a state trooper during a traffic stop on Old Drug Store Road in the Cleveland community. Trooper Jack Thorpe reportedly stopped a car for a traffic violation around 11:06pm Monday and attempted to detain the driver on the suspicion he was operating his 2002 Mercedes under the influence. The driver, later identified as 52 year-old Delbert Michael Richards of Mt. Pleasant Road, Willow Spring allegedly fought the trooper approximately 8 minutes before Trooper Thorpe could get the suspect handcuffed. Richards was charged with driving while impaired, driving on a revoked license, driving left of center, and resisting arrest. His vehicle was towed from the scene. Richards reportedly registered 0.21 on the Breathalyzer, nearly three times the legal limit of .08, during his first breath test. He reportedly refused to submit to a second Breathalyzer test, according to the Highway Patrol. ---- Seems like this guy doesn't have many friends.... http://racerap.com/racerap/viewmsg....ap_main_PSID=e8c6cf8fea1fe307217422e559d18ff7
