I too, bought a groupon. A young guy came out, never gave me his name after introducing myself. Kind of had an attitude. I'm guessing he never works that late. I will give him this much, he was a hard worker. Stayed focused on the task at hand and did the job. I have no spots in my carpet. What he left us with was soaking wet carpet. So wet, when you step in it with bare feet, it puddles up around your foot. He had to use our water and electric as well, blew out the breaker. After he left (he was in a hurry to leave), my bathroom upstairs (where he was getting the water from) was SOAKED. I'm talking a huge puddle of water, about an inch deep. I had furniture and a suitcase sitting in it. In my toliet room, also a huge puddle that ruined a full pack of toliet paper, plus dirty water all over the toliet seat. He had dropped a bucket of water down my stairs and left a huge puddle on my hardwood floors that he left. They are now ruined. As a matter of fact, he was tossing that bucket around quite a bit, there's some banged up scratches on my wall. I now have to take a day off to vaccum all the water up myself. Also, he threw the dirty water into my yard. ON MY NEW BUSHES. They are probably dead now. Was this a deal? NO!! After paying MORE MONEY to do my stairs ($20) and a trip fee ($20) which I was told over the phone when I made my appt that I would not have, I could have hired a really professional company instead of this joke job. If you have a groupon, do yourself a favor and take the loss. If you do decide to go through with it, DO NOT let them leave until you checked their work. Walk on the carpet, check your floors, etc. Otherwise, you will pay more in repairs. I have never in my life had a company so horrible do such a miserable job. I hired a company so I wouldnt have to do it myself. Now, I have to do twice the work and pay more $ to do it! There is no way this company will stay in business much longer if this is how they work. Ruining someone's house? No thank you. Pass on this company. We will be.

I will also be respectful enough NOT to post the company name, but I will answer questions in PM if you want to know.

Why not mention the company? I wouldn't drag Groupon into it though. They just provide the 'coupon' and have little to no responsibility for the services provided by the contractor.

I don't think Ferrick was meaning to tarnish Groupon ... just trying to give the rest of us some way to figure out which carpet company was being discussed ... without actually posting the name. I PM'd Ferick to learn more ... because I recently purchased a couple of "deals" from a carpet company from LivingSocial.com. Looks like its the same carpet company. I love Groupon & LivingSocial ... and I definately appreciate the info Ferrick provided.

If you saw this happening, why did you let it continue?

Did you call the company he was with and let them know?

You should never call a company to complain b4 posting your problem here.
