Athletics is not funded with monies from the State of NC... not one penny. The State used to fund out of state tuition/scholarships, but that no longer takes place. The Bevinator took that in last years budget crunch.

 

most major state colleges athletic dept are self supporting, with donors making up the difference. They stated last night that Lowe had a $900K buy out, that was not being paid for by the athletic dept. that means the wolf pack club, or wendell murphy picked up that tab.

also Mac Brown makes around $5 million a year at texas. since he got there, the revenues have increased by about 10 times that amount per year.

 

The schools don't pay the salaries....booster clubs do.

Actually the school/boosters would fund an out of state scholarship (academic & athletic) up to the amount of an instate student.....leaving the balance to be funded by NC.
