DO NOT GO TO THE POLLEY CLINIC!!!! My husband just texted me at 4:15 from there and they are JUST getting called back to a room for a 3:00 appointment. That was 75 minutes ago! I would NEVER have waited that long. There is no excuse for that. They still have not seen the doctor and will likely be 90 minutes waiting before seeing anyone at all. I am super-irritated right now. Needless to say, we will be looking for someone who respects our time.

*Finally got someone on the phone (after being disconnected and wading through a phone tree) and I asked why they were not told that the wait would be so long (so they could leave) and she basically said that she "couldn't tell" by 3:00 that they were "Running behind" by almost and hour and a half, even though the last appointment time of the day is 3:45. He left at 4:35 and the office was STILL packed. Don't waste your time there.

If you happen to casually mention you will be calling your insurance carrier about your visit. Things will perk up.

The Polley Clinic is AWFUL! I took two of my little ones for different issues, probably three years ago. Even back then, I remember the wait being horrible and I was so unimpressed with the doctor that we never went back. He sat on a stool in the middle of the room to examine a mole on the top of my daughter's head; she was sitting on the exam table. He never even looked at it close up. There was another issue with the way we were treated but can't recall now. Just know that I swore I would never go back!

I will never go back to the Polley Clinic, the care was fine but the overscheduling of patients and no-show policies were very unprofessional. The gist that I got (from waiting over an hour and a half a few times and reading notices on the wall is that the overscheduling is intentional, due to the high number of no-shows, and if you no-show you are responsible for 40.00? I think it was, or the full amount - it was something outrageous. Showing up early, with insurance copay/card and small children in hand - I didn't appreciate being treated like that.

The no show fee is $80!! I knew I should not have listened to my MIL when she suggested him. :boxing:

We will be moving on... We had previously planned to try Azalea until I read the reviews on here. I hear that Cary Dermatology is good. We will try them, most likely.

I have always used Azalea and haven't had any problems. I see Dr Poole (lady) not that I've had anything too major, but she's aways nice. Just went the other week for my full body scan for skin cancer........

Do they actually look at every inch of your body? or does a machine do it? I would be embarrassed. Do you have to be totally naked? I know I need to make an appt. but get scared off over the not knowing how it works.

they had me leave on my underwear, she looked everywhere else and asked if there was anything in my private area that she should check. it is awkward, but she made me feel very comfortable. they have a body chart and they mark on there what they find and she gives it some type of grade. I guess they want u to come in every yr and then they compare the chart to the last time. I'd been putting it off for prob 2-3 yrs, and finally had it done, I know how u feel.

You are lucky. I ended up with a trip to a plastic surgeon and an inch long scar on my face as a result because somebody couldn't be bothered to actually diagnose me. :?

Oh Garnergirl2000 can tell you some stories about them too. Not good for her. I drive to Raleigh and use Family Dermatology - Dr. Flynn. Very kind and smart!

I went to Dr. Tomar today and all went fine. They don't have tons of patients yet so easy to get an appointment. I was in and out in under 1/2 hour!

My husband (who doesn't like doctors) just went to Dr. Tomar and he approves of him!!! Ladies, don't forget to send your hubby for a check up.

yep, he's awesome. Been doing this for 16 years and knows his stuff too. I've had many procedures in the last year. His staff is awesome too. He shares the office space with his wife who is a Endocrinologist. They are sweet.

I had my first visit today, first ever to a dermatologist, so I was a little nervous. I had a great visit and really like everyone there from the office staff to the nurse and definitely Dr. Tomar. I had 2 spots that I was concerned about. Turns out he was concerned too so he removed them on the spot to send for testing. While that was not much fun, they really helped me get through it without too much stress! The nurse even took care when shaving the spot on my head...you know how us women are over our hair!:jester:

My hubby and son have gone there too over the last two weeks or so and they were very pleased as well! Thank God DH's spots were nothing to worry over, especially since his dad had melanoma. As for my son, it turns out that the doctor at Polley's suggestion for treatment was entirely too harsh. He is doing well with what Dr. Tomar prescribed for his moderate acne.

Highly recommend Dr. Tomar...very patient, soft-spoken, kind, and he explains everything very well!

Wow! Just got the eob for my husband's visit. Dr. Tomar charged $416 to shave off one mole and the lab charged $436 to study it. We just had a co-pay but that stills seem awful high. He was only there for 10 minutes.

You didn't ask the cost before the procedure? I learned that the hard way too.

And none of that stuff is cheap.

Our cost was the same ($40) for whatever they did in the office I just wanted to share for people who may not have a fixed co-pay or may be a cash patient. Still seems high too me.

Lucky you...we have a copay too, but not nearly that low for a specialist!

    Eczema, Dry Skin

My brother has eczema & has been going to a dermotologist for over a year with no real results. He was about to get yet another RX filled but I told him to try something else first.

I gave him my lotion that is specific to that type of problem. It's patented so there's only 1 place you can get it. He used it everyday for 2 weeks & came over to show me the results; no more red, flakey, irritated skin.....just clear & normal.

He has dandruff also, so now he's using the shampoo for that, i'm confident he'll come back over happy with the results because my teenage boys had dandruff before they started using the shampoo.

What consumers don't know or understand is the products you get from the grocery store is actually causing your skin problems, even the ones that claim they will help eczema or dandruff.......it's crazy what ingredients are found in things we use everyday. Laundry soap causes skin irritations, dryer sheets & bleach are the worst!

I don't buy my household products at grocery stores.
