Am I reading Senate bill 479 correct that if this bill passes then there will be no more EOG tests and they we will move to a national standardized test? http://www.ncleg.net/Sessions/2011/Bills/Senate/PDF/S479v3.pdf
I think that it means there will be no more EOG tests, unless they're required by the Feds either by law or as a condition of a Federal grant.
I was told by the school that it would mean no EOG testing as that is a NC test...will only do federal required testing.
I hope this is true. Or at least that there would be some changes to how EOGs are administered. 4 hours of testing in one day is too much for an adult and more so for my 3rd grader. DB's wife
My biggest problem with the EOGs is that they stop teaching 2 weeks before and just cram in information--then after the tests they do NOTHING!! The legislator did not pass everything that I would have liked to see but they have a good start to giving parents some choice and making so changes. Now we just have to see how Johnston COunty implements the changes.
