Saturday the Cedar Fork Rifles – Company I of the Sixth N.C. Infantry - will hold a 150th anniversary living history commemorating the organization of the company in June 1861. The event will consist of drill demonstrations (including musket firing), the presentation of the company flag and speeches by officers and citizens, as well as flag and weapons talks by the re-enactors. The event runs from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm, with the flag presentation ceremony scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm. The event takes place in front of the historic Page House in Morrisville (116 S. Page ST., Morrisville, NC 27560). Parking is available at the Morrisville Town Hall and at the First Baptist Church (there will be signs posted).

An historic account of the event can be read here: http://www.mindspring.com/~nixnox/standard.html

One last bump. Below is the original flag of the North Carolina Grays that was presented to the company on June 1, 1861. The ceremony tomorrow will feature a reproduction of this flag.
