Please pray for the soldeirs who have lost their lives. I have a dear friend who is a SEAL and I can't find out if he is okay or not and I am terrified. He means a lot to me. But more than that, these brave men dedicated their entire lives to training and taking out the enemy in order to protect our country. They made sacrafices that most people don't have to make like not being able to even discuss with their friends and families the details of their work, and taking on levels of danger that even other soldiers don't face. This is a huge, huge loss for our country. The SEALS are small in number compared to many military units and this tragedy has just created a very gaping hole in its heart and soul. I know we have all been praying for all of the soldiers who have lost their lives and who are deployed defending us, but today please say a special prayer for these SEALS and the others who lost their lives in this crash.

Thanks tassy :grouphug: I'm so anxious. It's just such a large number. I'm hoping for the best. The whole SEAL community needs our prayers. It's a sad loss for our country. My heart is broken.

For me its a daily ritual for all our military, and for these SEALS my sincerest sympathies and gratitude go out to them and their families. They are the Elite.
    Good luck on your friend.

Thanks for posting this, Volley. I have been on pins and needles all day myself as my bff is also a SEAL and I know that he is "traveling" right now (as he puts it). I haven't heard from him since yesterday. Praying for all of them and sending a subliminal message for my bestie to call me!!

I just found out that my friend was NOT on the chopper that went down. Thank you Jesus!

My heart still hurts for the 31 soldiers who did lose their lives. I had a momentary glimpse (during the time that I thought that maybe I had lost John) into what it would feel like to lose a loved one in battle and I know that for those who really did that feeling must be multiplied by a million and I pray for strength for those families to carry on in this time of so much grief.

Thank heavens VG that your friend is ok. I am relieved for you.

Unfortunately an old high school buddy of mine, Chris Campbell, was one of the Navy Seals that gave his life. His family has confirmed with old friends and they are just devastated. They are getting by with knowing he gave the ultimate sacrifice and died loving what he does for his country.

I wish that there were some way that I could convey my thanks for his service and the service of all of the fallen soldiers, but anything I think of just doesn't seem worthy of the thanks that they deserve for their sacrafice. I know that until the day I die I will always honor these brave men and women who put themselves into situations that I could never have the courage to do. My flag is flying high at my house. God bless your friend and his family. I truly do mean that. I still cry when I think about this :grouphug:

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend Chris. I'm thankful for VG and hopeful that PG's friend is safe. I wish there was something more we could do for those that sacrifice their lives for us ... especially these specialists that go to such extreme measures. If there was something beyond the measure of "hero", that's what these soldiers are. Bless them all!

In case anyone is interested, this is the link to the Navy SEAL Foundation. There are so many families who need support right now and this is a small way to help.

I am a VERY relieved girl right now! My bff is okay! Whew! I am extremely thankful for that good news but my heart also breaks for the families and friends of the ones who lost their lives. Red, I am so sorry about Chris. He died a hero.

I attended my uncle's funeral today in Fayetteville/Ft. Bragg. He had right at 23 years of service and received full military honors. If there can be a such thing as a beautiful funeral, the full honors military ones are absolutely amazing. I just can't express the feelings of pride, humility, gratitude, and sadness they provoke in me. :grouphug:
