    Who Needs a Flu Shot

    Eat right!
Make sure you get your daily dose of fruits and veggies.
Take your vitamins and bump up your vitamin C.
Get plenty of exercise because exercise helps build your immune system.
Walk for at least an hour a day,
    go for a swim,
take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc.
Wash your hands often. If you can't wash them, keep a bottle of antibacterial stuff around.
Get lots of fresh air. Open doors & windows whenever possible.
Try to eliminate as much stress
from your life as you can.
    Get plenty of rest.

    OR

    Take the doctor's approach.
    Think about it...
When you go for a shot, what do they do first?
They Clean your arm with alcohol...
    Why?
    Because Alcohol KILLS GERMS.
    So.......

I walk to the liquor store. (exercise)
I put lime in my Corona...(fruit)
Celery in my Bloody Mary (veggies)
Drink outdoors on the bar patio..(fresh air)
    Tell jokes, laugh....(eliminate stress)
    Then pass out. (rest)
    The way I see it...

If you keep your alcohol levels up,
    flu germs can't get you!

    My grandmother always said,
    "A shot in the glass
is better than one in the ass!"

However those at risk should not pass on the shot, your life could depend on it.

Due to occupational hazards I will be getting one.

Everyone at our house will be rolling up a sleeve for a shot next week at the local non-national-chain pharmacy.

    No flu for us!

I've never had one, but I'm gonna ask my Dr. at my next visit if I should be rolling up my sleeve as well.

I will most likely get a shot but I'm going to back it up with Kaci's method.

Hubby and I will be getting our shot as well. If you have ever had the flu, you NEVER want to take a chance on getting it again. That stuff is bad-you are so sick you would have to get better to DIE! Last time I had it (approx 10 years ago) it took 2 solid weeks before I started to feel normal!
Get the shot, take your vitamins and lots of hand washing! Everybody stay healthy! :)

    Flu Mist

If you do not like shots but still would like to get protection from the flu, you may want to try the Flu Mist. My daughter who is 6 chose to get it instead of the shot and so did I.

Has anyone been to a flu shot clinic yet? I just read in the N & O today that some flu shot deliveries have been delayed.

Some of our guys here at work with BCBS went to the clinic in Selma and had no problem.

Haven't had a flu shot since it was manditory for me while in the military. personally I'm of the same thought as Kaci. Keep my alcohol levels up and I'm good to go.

Haven't heard any advertising this year about getting a flu shot ... do you know if you can just go to Target/WalMart or any pharmacy to get one?

(Ok, yeah, so this is an old thread ... I didn't feel like starting a new one!)
