Can anyone recommend a Orthopaedist? My husband thinks he might have something called TOS - Thoracic Outlet Syndrom. Thanks in advance!

I don't know, but it might be worth a phone call to see. DH saw somebody in Raleigh for the ulnar nerve surgery he had, but I can't remember who or where it was, it's been about 8 years.
thoracic outlet syndrome is not usually treated by an orthopedic surgeon. it involves nerves and blood vessels. if he does have it he needs to see either a neurologist or vascualr surgeon.

Where did he come up with his diagnosis? If I had a dollar for every person that found their exact symptoms on the Internet I would have quite a stash. Do you have a primary care doctor? If so, that's where I would start, they can get a ctscan, MRI, ultrasound, etc and make sure you get the right specialist.
I've been misdiagnosed twice by primary care doctors and after hearing from other TOS patients having similar experiences I know my husband would prefer to see a specialist. Having your primary doctor order tests such as CT Scans,MRI's,Ultrasound,etc.,etc.is fine IF you have insurance which we do not. Not to say that a specialist would not order some of these tests but hopefully it will be more straight to the point!
annette, an orthopedic and orthopaedist are the same thing. kinda like potato potaato (i know its not spelled that way). I've been an orthopedic tech for about 12 years. we have always referred patients out to vascular and neuro for TOS.
