DH doesn't drink coffee, but he bought me a great coffee maker last Christmas, I love it. Its a DeLonghi and it also does espresso and cappuccinos.
We used to use these brands and then we looked at what we were spending every couple of years and invested in a Capresso machine with a conical burr grinder, so it grinds and brews when programmed for or when you decide to switch it on. This was over 10 years ago and the machine still grinds and brews like it did when it was new. A Southern Season carries them and you can find them on line now. We do love our coffee. We've looked at the Technovorm which is the ultimate home brew, but you have to have a seperate grinder. So we stick with Capresso, great start to the mornings and well worth the price.
Hey Rocky, I have an old Mr. Coffee that was replaced last year. We kept it in case we didn't like the new one. You are welcome to it. PM for pickup address.
Well, because I have owned several Mr. Coffee's. Besides that, though, it's common practise on warranties. You buy something, replace it with a defective item and then claim it's the one you bought. That's ripping them off. To claim they can afford it because they're some huge corporation does not make it ok. Stealing is stealing, and lying in an effort to make a profit is stealing. Why? Because they are a success story? Because they put thousands to work? Because they sell merchandise people want at a price they can afford? Because you're jealous that you aren't as successful?
1) - nope - because they sell disposable junk, don't staff their stores properly, they never have happy employees and they encourage the employees they do have to seek public assistance instead of using their profits to offer adequate benefits. 2) You're an ***
You really shouldn't be listening to your liberal/socialist friends. Perhaps you should actually go to work for one and find out how they really are. Oh, my, what a rapier wit you have. How will I ever defend myself from your in depth knowledge of the English language and your excellent use of your verbal skills?
What else would you be, if you condemn a legal business that has made good in America? Next you'll be wanting them taxed at a 75% rate and forced to give all their employees two hour martini lunches. You may call yourself conservative, but your actions speak volumes about how you really feel, comrade. Oh, so now your the forum police? You're in charge of telling people when and to whom they can post?
Rocky, just put the coffee maker in the box and take it back to walmarts. they'll give you another. it's not a big deal.
I side with Cliff on his view of Wal Mart but he is wrong on whether the OP is screwing Wal Mart. They don't care and neither does Mr. Coffee.
It's not political to me and it makes no difference to me where anyone else shops. Of course it's an American success story and yes - they are the largest employer in the country. It's about poor quality merchandise, poor customer service, mislabeled pricing, and what I only imagine to be a poor work environment because every Walmart employee I have ever encountered seems unhappy. Try to get help in a Walmart...you can't. Target isn't that way. There is something wrong when the largest employer is also the last place anyone wants to work. I choose American goods over Chinese whenever possible, regardless of the cost. I choose to shop elsewhere, but if I do buy something there and it breaks, I take it back to the store and force them to deal with it. Sam Walton did it the right way. Now it's just a business.
I didn't say the original poster was screwing Wal*Mart. I said THIS suggestion by DontCareHowYouDoItInNY would be screwing Wal*Mart. The suggestion is similar to insurance fraud, and aside from potentially being against the law, is just plain wrong.
I am trying to do the right thing. I don't have my original receipt, because I have had good luck with Mr Coffee in the past. Though I had kept the box and packed stuff I wasn't using in it. I was able to look up my original purchase date via quicken. So that's how I knew I bought it July 01 2011. And its Mr Coffee's warranty of being a year. I am going to pack it up and mail it to Mr Coffee's repair place. The repair man was the one who told me that Mr Coffee will send me a replacement coffee maker. I did check with Wal mart just to make sure and with out the receipt there is nothing they can do. And Wal mart has a 90 day return policy. Though when I worked there I saw that wal mart took back items that weren't even theirs.
I disagree. While you would be right that it might not be to most moral way to approach it, Walmart would not be out because the manufacturer credits them. The end result would be the same. Call me a rebel, sometimes I even remove my hands from the 10 and 2 position on the steering wheel. I can tell that you would never make such a radical move.
I'm surprised you didn't defend yourself by grabbing your crying towel and running to webbie for being called an *** you *****
Just wanted to give you a status update. I eventually received a new Mr Coffee in the mail. But still have not even taken it out of the box. The Coffee maker you had given me is still working strong. I figure I will continue to use that one till it stops working then take out the replacement Mr Coffee I just want to thank you again for it.
