We just heard a very loud boom near the Matthew's Farm Subdivision that brought all of my neighbors out of their house. Does anyone know what it was?

We heard one of these a few years back in my neighborhood and we still have no idea what it was. As in your experience, everyone came running outside and gave each other the universal sign for '***'? If I had to bet money, sonic boom is where I'd put it. Yeah, with modern avionics it's really hard to get away with a lie, but no system is completely pilot proof.
Calm down...I did search and found no reference to the one yesterday. I've heard several sonic booms in the past. This sounded more like an explosion.
