    Hello all:

I know there have been threads on this before but thought I would start a fresh one asking about the best haunted houses in the area? My 10 year old son is dying to go (no pun intended) and I think he is finally old enough. He doesn't get scared very easily, so please throw out some ideas and give me feedback on your fav. and why. If you didn't like one, please let me know that and why.

    Thanks!

    PB

No he's not. What are you going to do if it follows you or him home? Have you really sat down and discussed this like mother and child or Buddy buddy? Don't make lightly of what you are going to do with your son or what you are going to do period. It is not a joy ride or an adventure. Just heed my warning.

I have been to Fear Farm outside of Clayton, lots to choose from and hot chocolate/hay ride afterward to chase away the baddies.

I just so happened to see a Groupon offer this morning for another one which my son has mentioned going to in the past. It looks like a good deal to me - http://www.groupon.com/deals/darksi...6955f49d1dbdae6eb627e851a389d92fa0db69abaa3f4

And would somebody pay attention to this guy, please??? Now he has to judge and insult innocent bystanders. LOOK AT HIM DAMMIT!!!!!

Just because you were a scared little punk doesn't mean others will be.

Some kids do consider it an adventure. My daughter used to be too scared to go, but when she was 8 she went in a very scary one in the mountains at an old hospital. Mostly adults were in there, but she had to go and see, and loved it so much she went back through again! Some kids really enjoy the thrill.

What I do is real...Not this pretend crap. I misunderstood thinking she wanted to take the kid on a real hunt. My bad and shut up. Hide those nutts with a new personality?

Sorry, I realized my post isn't very clear. I'm trying to find the best Halloween pretend haunted houses in the area. Not real paranormal activity. Sorry for the confusion folks!!

:lol:Only one person thinks that way. The Fear Farm is where my daughter and her friends always go. By the way, they work at the Fear Farm now.

Just saw this in the Total Connection

    http://darksidehauntedestates.com/

There is a 2$ coupon, and they advertise a low scare night for kids Oct 28th 5 - 7pm

I've been seeing alot of ads for haunted houses this year. The only question is... which is the best one?

Woods Of Terror in Greensboro is worth the drive. We made an evening of it, left right after school, stopped to eat dinner and then got there right at dusk/dark. They had a wide variety of experiences, they touched on just about any fear you could possibly have, claustraphobia, rats, gore, ghosts, loud noises, people chasing you, etc. I would go back again even though it is a little drive, it made for a nice evening. We stopped and got hot cocoa afterwards with the kids (it was chilly that night) and then drove home. I would NOT bring kids under 12 unless they are unflappable. Here's their link:

Also, was voted in the top 20 scariest places to visit in the nation:

A friend of ours is doing his 3rd annual Halloween Night Haunted Forest, he is right in Turner Farms off of Hwy 50 in Garner. There is plenty of signage to find it, here is a post from his Facebook page. We've heard in the past its supposed to be really good.

HALLOWEEN NIGHT, from 7-10 come out to Tuner Farms Rd. in Garner to my 3rd annual HAUNTED FOREST. We will taking donations for a children's muscular dystrophy foundation. So come out.... If you dare!!
