Former chef at McKinley's is opening a restaurant on Main Street in Clayton. Next to Medlin Office Supply. Should open in February 2013. Space is being renovated.
Not sure who you heard that from, but we're friends with Howard and he was planning to open by February. That space was requiring massive gutting and renovations. Recently heard (from the person that hired him) that he is going to be working as a chef in Raleigh, and someone else said the FOR RENT sign has gone back in the window of that space on Main St. I have not been down Main St. yet to see that for myself. Maybe that means they've reconsidered opening? I don't know yet, but if I hear something I'll give an update. His plan was to be open Wed. - Sun, and a simple american style cuisine, nothing dedicated to any one particular nationality.
You are correct. Talked with owner of space today and he confirmed probably February but he was hoping for January.
