Anyone else having problems with centurylink? When I tried to access my email, Kaspersky detected phishing and won't allow me access? tried going to their website to see if there were problems reported there, and it won't load that either?
go to a command prompt type C:\ipconfig /flushdns then c:\ipconfig /release then c:\ipconfig /renew for a start.
in the cmd window my prompt is c:\users\dale how do I get just a c:\ prompt? I've tried typing c, c:, c:\
thanks! this is what I typed c:\>ipconfig/flushdns this is what came back the requested operation requires elevation
Put your computer on a higher shelf then try. Seriously, though, on the "Command Prompt", right click and select "Run as administrator"
Just because you are the administrator doesn't mean you always run in administrator mode. When you go to your command prompt, do you click a short cut for it, or do you select the shortcut "Run" and then type "cmd"? You need to do it this way: "Command Prompt" will be under "Accessories" in your start menu.
ok, thanks! I was able to do that and I did the steps that SS suggested, restarted the computer and I'm still getting the security messages.... :banghead:
Well, I'm sorry I can't help you with that. I was only helping you release/renew your IP. Have you tried talking (via phone) with a support person?
not yet - I was hoping the steps from SS would take care of it. But thanks to all of y'all for the help, I really do appreciate it!
