Passing along info-I don't anything more about this. I got this off Facebook and there is a picture. I just don't know how to get that picture on here. If you think it could be a dog you know, I could "friend" you on Facebook so you can see the picture. FOUND DOG: 2/10/13 at White Oak Plantation (Off Guy Rd in Clayton, 27520). Adult male – possible Rottweiler/Shepherd mix. 64 lbs. Friendly, and seems well taken care of. Came with collar but no tags nor microchip. Call Jeff at 919-625-3123 if you have any information.
That dog belongs to the folks who live across Guy Rd. If you hang a left on Guy from the neighborhood, take a right in the long driveway leading to that homestead back a few hundred yards. I don't know the man's name...but that dog turned up on our doorstep out here too about 6 months ago. He is a barn dog. BTW, he is great around people, but became aggressive when I had my dog out on a leash. PM me if you need more info.
I was passing this on from Clayton Animal Hospital. Just trying to help out. Maybe you can have them contact the phone number?
Really though...the dog wanders into that neighborhood all the time and you'd think they'd put a tag on him so someone could atleast call his owners. No, the dog hangs around for days and eventually someone recognizes him. The dog doesn't go home. He's old and gray and lost his way!
The dog is reunited with his owners. His tags came off as he squeezed out of the fence. They will be getting him microchipped now.
Yay, glad the pooch got back! Must be a different dog, but sure did look like the one that always wanders into White Oak Plantation.
