*Not intended to be a health care debate*

I am curious if anyone else has received their BCBS renewal letters yet. I haven't and they are supposed to come mid-September.

If you're referring to your status as the 4042.com jerk, then you're probably right.

I just called BCBS, they were mailed this week due to a delay.

We just received ours at our company through United Healthcare. It went up 5.8% which is surprising. The last few years were increases of 11% in 2012 and 18% for 2013. Curious if anyone is affected through BCBS. I was told by our representative that it was pretty much par for the course. She can check out other options, but this was pretty standard.

I know my student insurance was $1,000.00 two years ago, Last year it went up to $1,500.00 and this year I did not get it because it went up to $2,000.00 And they sent me a bill for services my doctor did that the past three times they covered. So now I have to fight wtih my insurer over what they cover that was covered in the past.

BCBS created a "new" network plan last year, I believe, that sounded really good and was pretty economical in comparison to their other plans, but covered relatively few of the providers in the "normal" BCBS network. They screwed up in several ways according to the way their legal department became involved in the discussions.

We are still waiting to get one for ds.

We have been looking around and talked with an insurance agent and basically told us to pay for the policy we have now (we are grandfathered in) as we can not get the same coverage anywhere else for the price we pay or will pay when we get our new premium.

Hope it doesnt go up to much!

We have BCBS here at work and what we were offered was two plan options. First plan was the basic plan where the price was pricing was the same as last year but some of the deductions/co-pays went up. The other plan the pricing went up, but all the deductions/co-pays were cut almost in half. Not totally sure what the percentage price difference was between the two options.

I was simply letting you know that I posted this in the main forum in the hopes that it would be taken seriously to see about the rates. I was kind of hoping not to hear you mouth (unless of course, you had a report on your insurance rate).

Based on a Manhattan Institute analysis of the HHS numbers, Obamacare will increase underlying insurance rates for younger men by an average of 97 to 99 percent, and for younger women by an average of 55 to 62 percent. Worst off is North Carolina, which will see individual-market rates triple for women, and quadruple for men.

    LOL

No wonder BCBSNC is in no hurry to send the renewal notices out. I guess we'll find out the real impact next Tuesday.

    BCBS Health insurance renewal

We've been receiving pamphlets about going online effective 10/1 to pick a plan - I always considered his plan a good plan and we are fortunate that it only costs $97 a month. Because his plan was not grandfathered, we are helping him to look at other options. We had an employee benefit meeting last week and the rep who negotiates our plan for BCBS said my best bet is to go on the exchange on 10/1 and see what plans are available. She saw on the news that morning that BCBS was going to be a participant. She confirmed that the cheapest plan for BCBS was going to be about $147, but there was no telling what that plan might cover. I asked about the subsidy that is available and more than likely our son will qualify but the application is 17 pages long. Oh well, if it helps pay that increased premium, it'll be worth the aggravation. I also heard on the news last night that some plans will now require you to pick which doctors you want in network - like I really know what type of specialist I'm going to need in the coming year.

What a shame that the greatest gun salesman in the world has now moved on to being the biggest health insurance salesman in the world.

At least with the guns once you could finally get something in your hands you have something tangible.

With the impending doom of healthcare all you will see is more people in the hallways passing away as a result of the Federal government overstepping their bounds yet again
