We are getting a real tree this year and I was wondering where to go around here for the prettiest trees at the best value. Any suggestions?

Hands down, the Farmers market. Lake wheeler rd.
you have quite a few of the tree farmers that sell their own trees from the mountains there. You have more variety to choose from than anywhere else.
The prices also vary there a bit between them. They will be the freshest you can get around here also.

I can't answer where the prettiest and best priced trees will be around here, there will be no shortage of Christmas Tree lots in the area. Spanky's in Smithfield always has reasonable prices, but his trees arent groomed as nicely as Booger Mtn and some of the others.

If you are interested in making it an event, head up to the Blowing Rock/Boone area and hit up a tree farm. We've done it a few times, if you have kids they will love it.

Here are two that we have been to, both were equally fun, pretty and memorable.

The other is the Red Barn Christmas Tree Farm. I dont see a web site for them, but here is a link to a Facebook page. I can't browse Facebook at work so it might not be very valuable.

Here is a Youtube video promoting the Red Barn.

I was a Pop and Son guy forever but the last 3 years its been L&G Farms produce stand across from Cleveland Elem. Prices were good and the trees had good shape. 3 years ago, when the economy was really in the tank, he was the lowest price, that i found, around, and appreciated the low prices so been back there ever since.

Amelia Church on Amelia Church Rd. (near intersection of 42) always has some nice looking trees. We've gotten a few from there for those years that we have done a live tree, reasonably priced I felt.
