What if you dont want to have all your doors open at once? How will you program that? Every door will have to have a separate "opener" with its own unique code and that code programed into the smart phone app. I imagine the "opener" will be similar to a magnetic lock similar to the types people use when they someone buzzes at the door and they push a button to release the magnetic lock so they can come in (ie: Seinfeld when George or Elaine always buzzed to get in).

However this sounds as if it will require a smart phone for the app and not all seniors have smart phones. This also requires you to have your phone on you all the time to open the doors. Makes sense if you are 20 years old as they have their phone on them at all times but as you get older (at least for me) its not in my possession at all times.

Not a bad idea though.

 

First of all, they already have keyless door openers for door locks, similar to the ones for your car. And you can already open your door with your smartphone. Schlage has been doing this for almost 2 years now.

Second, if you are talking about physically opening the door and not just unlocking it, they have that for businesses already. They use maglocks to keep the door locked, when the power to the magnet goes off, the door is open, you can just push on the door to open it, or have a servo open the door. Plenty of places I have worked before have this setup.

 

The app could have different radio signals for each door.

If not using a phone app, one would have something similar to a garage door opener with different radio signals for each door.

This opener is unique as it would unlock AND open the door, then close and lock the door after the button is pushed again.

Thus seniors, young people, disabled, etc. could either use a smart phone or something similar to a garage door opener. Each door installed with this device would have an on/off button on the door device, which would enable the system to be used or not. All done with batteries so if the electricity goes off a person does not have a problem.

I am hoping to license it to door manufacturers and see this manufactured in all future doors, especially for homes/apartments.

Keep dreaming moonbat! Sounds like you are well on your way to a $10,000 door that no one will buy except for the government! Perhaps you can sell it to Medicaid or get health insurance to pay for it like the scooter people.

Thank you for your links. I have reviewed these in the past and each of these is bulky, some are not manufactured with the door (are assembly pieces) and none have smart phone apps. The one I have invented is built into a door, no bulky portion sticking out and can be used with a remote device; either a remote control or smart phone.

I hope that helps in seeing the difference in my design and what is out on the market.

Take your idea to Kickstarter.com where they let people see your idea and fund it for you without signing into a data mining machine.

It has nothing to do with politics on this side of the forum, in my opinion. He gave me a link to a different organization, which I knew nothing about, that I thought was nice.

I really can separate items in my life. I enjoy the heck out of rock and roll and politics, but don't need to discuss them in every conversation.
